Onil Gunawardana smiling on a park bench - AI product manager and personal writer

Onil Gunawardana

Welcome to my personal corner of the internet. I’m Onil Gunawardana, and I’m drawn to big questions and curious about how things work. This site is where I think out loud.

By day, I build enterprise AI products at companies like Google and Snowflake. But this site isn’t about work. Here, I explore questions that don’t fit neatly into professional life.

What I Write About

I’m fascinated by philosophy. The ancient questions humans have wrestled with for millennia still matter. What does it mean to live a good life? How do we make decisions when we don’t have all the information? How do we find meaning in a world that doesn’t hand it to us?

I also write about productivity. Not optimization hacks, but the deeper question of how we spend our attention. What deserves our focus? How do we protect time for what matters? These questions become more urgent as distractions multiply.

And I write about whatever else I’m genuinely curious about. Sometimes that’s a book that changed how I think. Sometimes it’s an experiment I’m running on myself. The topics range widely because I follow curiosity rather than a content calendar.

Giving Back

Education changed my life. Scholarships made it possible, which shaped how I think about giving back.
